Facilitated by Casa staff and volunteers of the Faith in Action Ministry Opening Day of Connection and Reflection ON CAMPUS at the Franciscan Renewal Center | 5802 E. Lincoln Dr. Paradise Valley, AZ Saturday, October 23 9:00 am – 3:00 pm MST Remaining sessions ONLINE on Mondays: Oct 25, Nov 1, Nov 8, Nov 15, (no class Nov 22), Nov 29, Dec 6 and Dec 13 6:15 - 8:30 pm MST Registration closes on Saturday, October 10, 2021 Pope Francis encourages us to “work with integrity and transparency for the common good and to foster a Spirit of Solidarity. He also declares climate change the greatest moral issue of our time. In better understanding the Catholic principle of the Common good with its focus on shared rights and responsibilities, we can apply those principles to addressing the climate and environmental crisis before us. Through books, articles, videos and participants discussion, this 8-session course offers a lively and challenging exploration of the Catholic social teachings on Care for Creation and Rights and Responsibilities. Together we will listen to the Franciscan story and share our own stories as well as the challenges and responsibilities to living in harmony with all of God’s creation. This is the first course in a 3-part series on Catholic social teaching through the Franciscan lens. More of the series will occur in the winter and spring focused on other CST themes. Some materials purchased for the first course will be used throughout the series. Fee: $120, includes lunch on October 23 and course materials. Registration closes Sunday, October 10. Upon registering, you will receive an automated confirmation email from Learn It Live. For the opening on-campus session, please ignore the link to join the live online session--check in information for that day will be sent separately. Please contact [email protected] with questions.
